Continuing the long running annual bullion product, the 2012 Silver Kookaburra Coins feature a fresh interpretation of the iconic Australian bird. The coins are struck in 99.9% pure silver and available in a range of weights to accommodate different investment levels.

The obverse of each coin features the Ian Rank Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse design features an image of the Kookaburra perched on a tree branch with eucalypt leaves depicted. Inscriptions on the coin indicate the weight and purity of the silver content. Each coin carries a legal tender face value.
The sizes available for the 2012 Silver Kookaburra include 1 kilo coins with an unlimited mintage, 10 ounce coins with an unlimited mintage, and 1 ounce coins with a mintage limit of 500,000 pieces. The official release date for the coins was September 1, 2011.
Issued by the Perth Mint, the Australian Kookaburra Silver Bullion Coins have been offered since 1990, featuring a different reverse design annually. The bird is native to Australia and has a distinctive call that sounds like human laughter.
